The island is dominated by Mt Ochi, which is ringed by small towns and villages and makes for a fantastic hiking experience. The tiny volcanic island of Nisyros is often overlooked as a holiday destination; but if you're just taking a short stay in Greece, 3 to 4 days, then it makes for a rather perfect holiday. There's more than enough to pack a short holiday with activities, visiting the steaming volcanic craters, walking the islands fantastic trails, seeing the old forts an monasteries and visiting the health spa.
Finally, and it's another small one, is the island of Spetses. The island is small but perfectly formed and because of its lack of cars, due to sever restrictions on motor vehicles, it's a haven for cyclists and hikers. There's only one town on the island which means everywhere is within walking distance, including two of the islands best beaches.
